About Viveka Anderton
Viveka is a Swedish management consultant with a background in global business management. She has held senior positions in international companies, managed complex business transformation projects, reshaped organisations, and built a performance-driven culture in more than 60 countries.
Viveka’s passion lies in the Middle East. She has over 25 years of experience acquired from across the whole region, having lived in the UAE, Oman, Kuwait and Egypt. Her portfolio has been further enhanced through training and acquiring tools related to leadership development, organisational culture, cross-cultural management, and so on. She has translated and adapted several organisational and leadership assessment tools to better suit the cultural context of the Middle East.
Viveka is a researcher on specialist topics key to leadership and organisational development in the Middle East, including nationalisation in the Gulf, management of multi-cultural teams, and Egyptian organisational values.
Viveka holds degrees in Business & Economics, Middle Eastern & North African Studies, Social Anthropology and working competence in Arabic. She has published articles and papers on topics relating to leadership and organisational values in the Middle East, and spoken on the topic at The American University of Beirut, Middle Eastern Association, Arab Women in the Gulf Economy (AWGE) and HR Association in Cairo.
Viveka recently received an EU grant to support her work on cultural understanding between the EU and the Middle East. She has formal education on the Qur’an, and has been active in interfaith dialogue and organisations.
