Course: ISO 26000 and Social Audit Expert Training

Does your CSR programme contribute to sustainable development and promote your business? What benefits can be achieved by implementing ISO 26000?

ISO 26000 is the international standard developed to help organisations effectively assess and address those social responsibilities that are relevant and significant to: their mission and vision; operations and processes; customers, employees, communities, and other stakeholders; and the environmental impact.

The ISO 26000 standard provides guidance on:

  • The seven key, underlying principles of social responsibility: accountability, transparency, ethical behaviour, respect for stakeholders’ interests, respect for the rule of law, respect for international norms of behaviour, and respect for human rights
  • Recognition of social responsibility and engagement with stakeholders
  • The seven core subjects and issues pertaining to social responsibility: organisational governance, human rights, labour practices, the environment, fair operating practices, consumer issues, and community involvement and development
  • Ways to integrate socially responsible behaviour into organisations.

The standard emphasises the importance of results and improvements in performance on social responsibility. The standard also provides definitions and information to help organisations understand and address social responsibility.

What are the advantages of ISO 26000?
